Population Growth

Why is the population of Montana growing at such a rapid pace? The list is long, but a few reasons are: Montana is one of the healthiest states in the country; home to top-ranked colleges and universities; the property taxes are lower than the national average, making it an ideal state for home and land owners; there is limitless natural beauty and wide-open spaces as far as you can see; there are also interesting and vibrant cities full of job opportunities.

The U.S. Census Bureau 2020 Census is complete and the increase in population helped Montana regain the second U.S. House seat it lost nearly 30 years ago. The second seat will double the state’s presence on House committees and make the delegation more powerful on committees that are important to our state. New Congressional districts will be ready in time for next year’s elections and more than $2 billion in Federal funding for highways, other infrastructure, healthcare, and education, etc. will be distributed based on population.

Depending on what a family, individual, or business is looking for, chances are they will find it in Montana. Montana has many areas with a high quality of life. Even if population growth isn’t significant in some areas, the small towns of Montana are appealing to many as well.
